How to make a promo video for a Framer or Webflow template

Show who the template is for, a few representative layouts and one genuine interaction. A short promo should help a buyer decide whether to open the live preview. It does not need to squeeze the whole template into a fast scroll.
Template buyers need to distinguish the design being sold from the demo content used to present it. Keep that boundary clear in both the video and the surrounding listing.
Start with a buyer, not a page count
An agency portfolio, restaurant site and SaaS landing-page template solve different problems. Open with the relevant context. Then show the pages or sections that make the template useful to that buyer.
Avoid treating every component as an equal feature. Choose one clear layout, one deeper page and a detail that demonstrates the design approach. If the template includes different styles, explain whether they are included variations or separate products.
Record actual interactions
Use a working preview for menus, filters, hover states and responsive behavior. Do not add cinematic motion that suggests an interaction the buyer will not receive. Keep pointer movement deliberate and give the resulting state time to register.
For a mobile view, show the actual mobile layout. A desktop screenshot inside a phone outline does not demonstrate responsiveness.
An illustrative listing-video plan
| Scene | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Template name and audience | Establish whether the buyer should continue |
| Main layout | Show the visual hierarchy at a readable size |
| Secondary page | Prove the design extends beyond the homepage |
| Actual interaction or mobile view | Show behavior the template includes |
| Preview destination | Invite a closer inspection |
Keep the pace consistent with the amount of detail. A listing video is not proof that a template suits every business; it is a useful preview of a specific design.
Check the delivery context
Framer documents “uploaded videos, hosted MP4 files, and embedded content from YouTube and Vimeo.” Use the current Framer instructions when adding your promo to a template demo or sales site. This does not establish what an individual marketplace listing accepts.
Webflow's video documentation describes its own embedding options. Check marketplace rules separately and preview the final listing rather than assuming the sales page and marketplace behave identically.
Be precise about what buyers receive
Mention whether shown photographs, fonts, custom code or other assets are included and on what terms. Do not imply ownership of demo artwork simply because it appears in the preview. Keep important purchase conditions in readable listing text.
For a branded template announcement, Teasr lets you start with the public preview and review a short motion promo without recreating the template's design in a video editor. It does not certify the template's functionality or replace real capture when a specific interaction is the selling point. For broader client work, see agency launch-video packages.
