How to market an app you built with AI

By , 11 October 2026

AI builders compress months of work into days, which means the marketing now starts sooner than most makers are ready for. Here's what to do once the app works.

Don't lead with how you built it

"Built with AI in a weekend" is interesting to other makers and irrelevant to customers. Lead with the problem you solve. Save the build story for maker communities, where it's genuinely interesting.

Move off the default address when you can

A your-app.lovable.app address works for testing, but a custom domain looks like a product rather than an experiment, and it's what you'll want people to remember. Most builders let you connect one on a paid plan.

Polish the first screen

AI-generated apps often share the same look. Change the headline to your one sentence, replace placeholder images, and make sure the first thing people see shows what the app does.

Find users by hand

The fastest route to early users is still personal: "You have to go out and get them" (Paul Graham). Find people describing your problem in forums and communities and talk to them, as a person first (Reddit).

Launch where it fits

Show HN is for things people can try, ideally without sign-ups (Hacker News). Product Hunt suits consumer and SaaS tools. Your builder's community is the friendliest first audience. See where to launch your app.

Show it in motion

63% of people say they'd rather learn about a product from a short video (Wyzowl). Paste your app's address into Teasr and get a launch video in its own design in under 10 minutes, from €39. There are guides for Lovable, Base44, Bolt, Replit and v0.
